The launch of the VAT package for ecommerce was one of the priorities of the digital single market strategy, with the promise of simplifying the\u00a0<strong>VAT obligations<\/strong>\u00a0of businesses carrying out ecommerce transactions across borders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>What it is and what it consists of are things we have already anticipated in this article\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goglobalecommerce.com\/en\/vat-revolution-not-all-that-glitters-is-gold?utm_source=Referral&amp;utm_medium=Press-release&amp;utm_content=vat-revolution&amp;utm_campaign=knowledge-centre.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VAT revolution, not all that glitters is gold<\/a><\/strong>, in which we have tried to analyse what simplifications this\u00a0<strong>VAT implementation regulation<\/strong>\u00a0entails and what the problems may be, for whom and when.\u00a0In a nutshell, from 1 July the\u00a0<strong>EU VAT regulation<\/strong>\u00a0for European countries that want to sell online in other EU Member States will have to deal with the MOSS scheme \u2013 an acronym for Mini-One-Stop-Shop that will now be extended to B2C sales as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>With the new scheme in place from 1 July, it is stipulated that the VAT supply (for the seller) remains taxable in the country of origin and no longer in the country of destination, but the new threshold from which this\u00a0<strong>VAT simplification<\/strong>\u00a0can be applied is \u20ac10,000 per year across the EU.<\/p>\n<p>But what does this change in\u00a0<strong>VAT rules and regulations<\/strong>\u00a0mean from a legal point of view?
