Bip&Drive joins Tech Barcelona to drive the mobility of the future

5 July 2021 News Partners

Tech Barcelona incorporates Bip&Drive, the digital platform for driver payment services, as a Corporate Partner. The agreement will allow them to work together in the development of Tech Barcelona’s future mobility hub, which will bring together startups, corporations and other agents in the ecosystem to find innovative and sustainable solutions in the sector.

The Bip&Drive platform, a company owned by Abertis, Cintra, Itínere and CaixaBank, aims to provide innovative solutions through the use of technology and new means of payment to simplify and facilitate the mobility of its customers: drivers. The application concentrates services such as electronic tolls, booking and payment of the MOT, refuelling at petrol stations, on-road catering and parking at car parks and parking meters. Its marketplace aims to revolutionise the driver’s overall experience, placing all services related to mobility and driving in the same place.

In the words of Josep Jové, CEO of Bip&Drive, “with the integration of Bip&Drive in Tech Barcelona we want to connect with the talent of the city, create synergies and advance in the mobility of the future: more connected and intelligent which, in turn, will also be more sustainable, efficient and safe. Moreover, if we want to be at the forefront of innovation with the best startups to develop the mobility of the future and car connectivity, we cannot afford not to be present in the Tech Barcelona ecosystem”.

According to Miquel Martí, CEO of Tech Barcelona, the agreement with Bip&Drive “visualises the transversality of technological solutions to solve major challenges, which is one of Tech Barcelona’s motivations. Crossing innovations in mobility with payment services and the new needs of drivers, as Bip&Drive does, opens up a great field of play for many companies in our ecosystem”.
