Barcelona is strengthening its position as a technology hub as the AI Summit Barcelona 2026 scales up, aiming to become the largest artificial intelligence event in Southern Europe. The next edition, taking place on 22 and 23 September at the World Trade Center Barcelona, is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees, far exceeding last year’s 1,500 participants.

An AI Week taking over the whole city

The summit will be the centrepiece of what is set to become Spain’s largest AI Week, with around 50 technology and cultural activities taking place across Barcelona and an estimated attendance of between 15,000 and 20,000 people. The programme will include a hackathon with 500 participants, along with activities focused on building and deploying real-world solutions under the slogan Beyond Theory. AI in Action.
