Barcelona is getting ready to become the epicenter of innovation in health and sport with the final days of the Break the Gap: AI for Health & Sport Summit 2025.

On September 9 and 10, two iconic venues —the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site and the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium— will host a unique event that blends technology, entrepreneurship, and forward-thinking to tackle real challenges in healthcare and sports. After three intense online sessions, the decisive moment arrives: eight finalist projects will showcase their solutions before a jury and audience, competing for recognition and a €50,000 equity investment offered by Goo Ventures®.

September 9 will be dedicated to the health vertical. The day will kick off with a welcome coffee and institutional opening by Eric Garcia, CEO of GooApps, and representatives from Barcelona Health Hub. Then, the four finalist projects —CON-TACTO, MyMind, QGuard Med, and RheumaLink— will pitch their proposals in 20-minute sessions each. Following networking and breakfast, attendees will enjoy two keynote sessions: a talk by Alfonso Amado (La Ruta Azul) on the “messy middle” of healthcare entrepreneurship, and a masterclass by Antonio Rodríguez Hita (EIT Health Spain) on European opportunities for health startups. The day will close with an award ceremony and a DJ-powered networking vermouth.

September 10 will focus on the sports vertical. At the Olympic Stadium, the finalist teams —Sport For All, Oncologym, TwinH, and 10Mets— will present solutions aimed at transforming training, physical health, and inclusion through sport. The program will also feature talks by Leonor Gallardo (FIFA Institute) on sustainability in sports surfaces, and Ela Goralska (Redinnova Consulting) on public funding for innovative projects. As with the health day, the event will conclude with the award ceremony and a relaxed networking session.

Break the Gap 2025 is more than a competition: it’s a celebration of emerging talent, a meeting point for innovation ecosystem stakeholders, and a window into the technological solutions that will shape the future of wellbeing.
