The audiovisual industry is at an unprecedented turning point, and Artificial Intelligence has evolved from a support tool into the driving force behind a new creative era. In this context, IEBS Business School is organizing the AI Awards, the first Spanish festival dedicated to recognizing audiovisual productions created with generative artificial intelligence.

The competition was created with the mission of discovering new talent that is redefining storytelling, sound, and visual aesthetics through generative models. The call is open to both creators taking their first steps in the industry and filmmakers, digital artists, freelancers, and creatives with previous work at both national and international levels.

Luis Ángel Mendaña, Director of the AI Awards and an AI filmmaker, reflects on the impact of this technology on cinema: “In an environment saturated with images, storytelling is the only thing that matters. Creating something visually impressive is no longer enough. If there isn’t a human and moving story behind it, nobody will care.”

A creative challenge with clear rules

Participants may submit their works in three formats: Micro-Short Film, Short Film, and Spec Ads (speculative campaigns or advertisements).

To ensure the festival’s technical rigor, the main requirement for participation is to demonstrate the use of generative AI in at least two areas of the project (screenwriting, image/video, voice, or soundtrack), accompanied by a report detailing the tools used throughout the creative process.

Registrations: Now Open!

Submission deadline: September 25.

Awards Gala and Ceremony: November 12 in Barcelona.

Registration and full competition rules: https://www.iebschool.com/eventos/ai-awards/

Hybrid Gala and Expert Jury

The festival jury will be made up of leading figures from the audiovisual, creative, and technology industries. This panel will evaluate technical quality, originality, and, above all, the ability of each work to move and engage audiences.

Following the deliberation process, the awards gala will take place on November 12 in Barcelona. It will be a full-day event featuring exclusive masterclasses, networking opportunities, and the presentation of awards. The event will be held in a hybrid format: both in person and through a free global livestream and metaverse broadcast, enabling broad participation and connection within the creative community.

The AI Awards are strategically supported by major organizations such as Movistar and Agencia EFE, reinforcing the festival’s position as a must-attend event for the future of the audiovisual industry. Category partners include Magnific (formerly Freepik) and HeyGen, while Media Partners include Tech Barcelona, La Terminal, Donde Go, Revista Emprendedores, Control Publicidad, Pleiful, and Shaike.

The Evolution of the CFO: From Chasing Data to Leading Strategy with AI

For more than a decade, we have been hearing that the CFO needs to transform. Cloud computing, automation, analytics, generative AI. Every wave of technology has brought new promises for the finance function.

And yet, many finance teams are still operating much as they did a decade ago.

This time, however, the difference is fundamental. AI is not only changing the tools; it is changing the nature of decision-making itself. And that requires something different from today’s CFO: knowing what to ask of technology, when to trust it, and where human judgment remains irreplaceable.

In this webinar, we will speak with Fernando Martín, Chief Evangelist and Co-founder of Dost, and Gustavo Porporato Daher, former CFO, PhD in Economics, and university professor, about the real strategic shift expected of today’s finance leaders, the knowledge and capabilities they need to lead it, and how to manage this transformation within finance teams without losing control.

Speakers

  • Fernando Martín — Chief Evangelist and Co-founder of Dost.
  • Gustavo Porporato Daher — Professor and consultant | Former CFO. PhD in Economics and Business Administration with more than 20 years of international experience as a CFO and member of Boards of Directors.
