The event “Research That Heals: UPC, Technology and the Health of the Future” is an initiative promoted by the Rector’s Office of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with the aim of placing the intersection between technology and health at the heart of the academic and social ecosystem.
Organised jointly by the Institute for Health Research and Innovation (IRIS), the Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering (ESEIAAT), the Institute of Textile Research and Industrial Cooperation of Terrassa (INTEXTER), and the Terrassa School of Optics and Optometry (FOOT), this event was created to showcase both the cutting-edge research being carried out at the UPC and the innovative strength of Terrassa’s wider health ecosystem.
The gathering will present successful case studies that are already being applied today, as well as forward-looking proposals from doctoral students, culminating in an open debate on the major challenges of technological adoption and the role universities must play in training the healthcare professionals of the coming decades.
