In order to seek opportunities for Sino-Spanish cooperation, promote bilateral exchanges and deepen collaboration, and explore innovative investment cooperation approaches, the “2024 China (Futian, Shenzhen) – Spain (Barcelona) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Event” (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”), hosted by the Shenzhen Futian District Government will be held on September 5, 2024, at Barcelona,Spain.
The event will gather attendees from government bodies and prominent companies of both China and Spain, as well as academic institutions, industry associations, and investment entities. The primary schedule comprises guest addresses, a presentation on the business environment in Shenzhen’s Futian District, the signing of strategic cooperation agreements, and keynote speeches. The District Mayor of Futian District People’s Government of Shenzhen Municipality, Mr. Zhou Jiangtao, along with other leaders, will attend the event. They anticipate engaging in profound dialogue with Spanish representatives, fostering deeper and more multifaceted international collaboration.
Shenzhen
Shenzhen was established as a city in March 1979, and the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was established in August 1980. Over the past 40 years, Shenzhen has undergone a transformation from a backward border town to a modern international metropolis, creating a miracle in the history of world development. As of 2023, Shenzhen’s regional GDP reached ¥3.46 trillion, growing by 6.0%, ranking among the top in domestic large and medium-sized cities in terms of growth rate. In terms of foreign trade, Shenzhen’s total import and export volume reached ¥3.87 trillion billion, an increase of 5.9%, with exports growing by 12.5%, ranking first among mainland cities for 31 consecutive years.
The rapid economic development is fueled by the emergence of a new generation of forces. With an average age of 32.5 years, the youthful population of Shenzhen provides a continuous source of fresh vitality for the booming development of the high-tech industry, creating tech giants such as Huawei, BYD, DJI, and Tencent. Shenzhen is known as China’s “Silicon Valley,” with its total social R&D investment reaching $26.18 billion in 2023 and leading China’s PCT international patent applications for 20 consecutive years, demonstrating its status as an international innovation center. Shenzhen’s speed is a hallmark of China. The city boasts a complete industrial chain, with significantly accelerated product development cycles from initial concept to continuously improved supply systems.
Futian District, Shenzhen
Futian District is the administrative, cultural, financial, commercial and international exchange center of Shenzhen, with a total area of 78.66 square kilometers. It boasts the greatest economic aggregate among the top districts and counties in China. In 2023, its GDP exceeded RMB 570 billion. So far, its average regional GDP, average regional tax revenue, total retail sales of consumer goods, total import-export volume and added value of financial industry have ranked first in Shenzhen for several years. Futian was rated as the second in the CCID’s “China’s Top 100 Districts” and first in the “Top 100 Districts with Investment Competitiveness” in 2023.

Evaluation Criteria
- Use of Radix Tech Stack: The project must be Scrypto package (composed of blueprints) deployed on Stokenet and a frontend integrated with Radix dApp Toolkit.
- Quality and Asset-Orientedness of Code: Assess the participant’s skill in applying asset-oriented programming principles from our docs and design patterns where it’s applicable.
- Breadth of Functionality: Rate the range of functionalities provided in the submission and their utility. Especially if it’s a novel or more complex functional of common DeFi dApps – e.g. a Uniswap V2 DEX is less interesting than something like a Balancer type dApp or Uniswap V3.
- Quality of Documentation and Code Comments: Evaluate the clarity, thoroughness, and usefulness of documentation and comments within the code.
- Transaction Manifest: Evaluate the use and understanding of the transaction manifest.
- UI/UX Experience: Assess the proficiency with which the participants utilise a frontend framework.
- Innovation and Creativity: Evaluate the level of innovation and creativity displayed in the project’s approach and solutions.
All skills are welcome and needed. The hackathon is open to all profiles, but every team will require at least one developer to submit an MVP for judging.
All participants should sign-up individually, regardless of team formation, which will take place briefly prior to the hackathon kick-off. Hackers can encourage their desired teammates to apply so they can all join the hackathon as a single group. Teams are not expected to be formed by more than 4 participants.
Food and beverages will be provided by the organisation.
Judging is done by the Radix team based on judging and acceptance criteria of the challenges.
