The Open Innovation Laboratory for municipalities, promoted by Aigües de Barcelona and Mobile World Capital Barcelona, launches the first open call for innovative technological solutions for the optimization of irrigation in green areas in Esplugues del Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain).

Esplugues’ previous use of sensors and automation in irrigation, has shown that there is room for improvement in the agility and effectiveness of these measures, and the interoperability with other systems. Therefore, the final aim is to find solutions that can focus on the monitoring and control of irrigation water; prediction and automation of irrigation in real time; status and management of water infrastructures and integrated management initiatives.
