DATA es un primer acercamiento al mundo de los datos que se dirige tanto a personas que quieran aprender a utilizarlos en su día a día, como a empresarios, directivos y profesionales en general interesados en aplicarlos en sus negocios o empresas. El libro también analiza de qué modo los datos afectarán a la sociedad.

El autor, Fernando de la Rosa, cofundador y director de desarrollo de negocio de Foxyze School, ha dividido el libro en cuatro grandes bloques:

• Una introducción para entender conceptos básicos como dato y algoritmo, y saber a qué nos referimos cuando hablamos de inteligencia artificial o de big data, etc.
• En «Data y personas», muestra de manera muy didáctica el camino para desarrollar la habilidad de leer, trabajar y comunicar con datos, es decir, sumerge al lector en lo que se ha llamado data literacy o alfabetización de datos.
• En «Data y empresas», profundiza en cómo las empresas pueden incorporar la gestión de los datos y enseña, a través de un método muy sencillo, cómo discernir los datos críticos de cada área empresarial.
• En el último bloque, «Data y sociedad», habla de la localización de los datos que generamos cada uno de nosotros, de la seguridad y de la privacidad. Nos advierte de que, durante los próximos años, hablaremos, trabajaremos y viviremos rodeados de datos. Nos dirigimos, de forma inexorable, hacia una sociedad datificada que nos exigirá a todos introducirnos en la alfabetización de datos.

DATA es sin duda un primer paso hacia ello.

Foment renova la confiança del Consolat General dels EUA a Barcelona per impulsar el programa de l’Academy for Women Entrepreneurs

Segona edició de l’AWE destinada a 30 emprenedores de Catalunya

AWE és un programa d’emprenedoria gratuït finançat pel Departament d’Estat dels EUA que té com a objectiu impulsar el desenvolupament de projectes emprenedors liderats per dones. El programa ofereix a les emprenedores que hi participen una combinació de classes magistrals, així com la formació virtual intensiva  DreamBuilder, impartida per l’escola de negocis dels EUA Thunderbird, de l’Arizona State University. Aquesta formació empresarial té com a objectiu donar suport al desenvolupament i el creixement d’un negoci o projecte emprenedor i potenciar les habilitats en l’àmbit empresarial.

El programa compta amb la col·laboració d’EPSON, el despatx d’advocats DWF-RCD, Tech Barcelona i Wayra Barcelona.

Comitè de selecció i avaluació de les candidatures

Per la selecció i avaluació de les candidatures s’ha creat un comitè format per:

La convocatòria està oberta a emprenedores residents a Catalunya, que hagin creat una startup en els darrers 4 anys o que tinguin una idea avançada i estiguin a punt de posar-la en marxa. Se seleccionaran a 30 emprenedores per participar en aquesta segona edició i, al final del programa, s’atorgaran set premis als projectes empresarials més destacats. Les participants formaran part de la gran xarxa global AWE, que compta amb més de 16.000 dones de 80 països d’arreu del món.

A més, les emprenedores amb els set projectes més destacats rebran premis valorats en 1.000€ cada un consistents en algun dels següents packs: material audiovisual per part d’EPSON, hores d’assessorament legal per part de DWF-RCD, o hores de mentoria per part de Wayra Barcelona. Igualment, Tech Barcelona premiarà a totes les 30 emprenedores amb accés gratuït a tot el seu programa d’activitats durant un any.

La reunió del jurat serà el proper 27 d’abril a les 12:00h.

La primera setmana de maig es donaran a conèixer les candidatures seleccionades i al juliol es clourà oficialment la segona edició del programa a Catalunya.

ISEA2022 Barcelona in collaboration with the NewArtFoundation and Hac Te, Barcelona Hub of Art, Science and Technology, with the participation of Fundació Privada Reddis, Fundació Sorigué, Fundación Ernesto Ventós / Nasevo International Prize, DKV Seguros and .BEEP { collection;}  announces the calls forfive grants for production and research of artistic works in the field of the confluence between art, science and technology. 

The result of the grants will be exhibited in the course of ISEA2022 Barcelona, the 27th edition of the International Symposium on Electronic Art.

GUIDELINES

Each artist or collaborative group can apply for each of the five grants if they meet the requirements of the call. You can find all the information and guidelines in the following links:

• Fundació Privada Reddis.Endowment €6,000.00 taxes included. Artists with residence in Catalonia.
• Fundació Sorigué.Endowment €10,000.00 taxes included.
• Fundación Ernesto Ventós / Nasevo International Prize.Endowment €10,000.00 taxes included.
• DKV Seguros. Endowment €10,000.00 taxes included. Artists under 45 years of age with Spanish nationality.
• .BEEP { collection;}.Endowment €10,000.00 taxes included.

If you already submitted your proposal to ISEA2022 Barcelona, you can also apply to these calls if you meet all the requirements.

The accepted projects may have the help and advice of the centers associated with Hac Te, the Art, Science and Technology hub of Barcelona.

DEADLINES

The period for receiving proposals for all the grants except from DKV Seguros will close on March 10 at 23:59 (UTC + 1h) and the announcement of the result of the selection process will be on March 15, 2022. 

In the case of DKV Seguros grant, the period for receiving proposals will close on March 20 at 23:59 (UTC + 1h) and the announcement of the result of the selection process will be on March 22, 2022. 

For all the grants, the projects must be completed by May 15, 2022 to enable their exhibition within ISEA2022 Barcelona.
